Heartbeat

Yes, i heard the heartbeat today!  I have been stressing for days, as I started to feel a tiny bit better this weekend and assumed the worst. None of my other symptoms abated, but that did not console me.

So, after a nerve-wracking 1.5 hours of tests, discussions and more tests, they pulled out the Doppler to locate the heartbeat.  The doctor warned me that they don’t always find it right away.  I immediately flashed back to my first pregnancy.  My then ob-gyn pulled out the doppler, gave me the same warning and found no heartbeat.  She said ‘Don’t worry’ and I tried not to fret.  A week later at my CVS appointment, we learned that there had not been a heartbeat in some time…so I think my fears today were justified.

However, within moments of gently pushing on my (still small) belly, a very strong heartbeat was found!  I am still amazed this is happening, but now quite relieved.  Kelsey still does not know, but Caitlin was quite excited when I told her this afternoon.
